Privacy Policy

What this site keeps, what the app sends when it activates, and how to have it deleted. No analytics, no advertising trackers, a cookie that keeps you signed in, and a referral cookie that is only ever set if you say yes to it.

The short version

AI Cast Co-host runs on your computer. Your voice, your conversations, your show history and your TikTok chat are processed on your PC and never reach this website. This site knows who bought a license, which computers it is activated on, and - if you ask for it - that you want release-note emails. If you followed an affiliate's link and allowed the referral cookie, it also knows which affiliate referred your purchase. That is all.

Who we are

This site and the AI Cast Co-host license are provided by Varner Ventures LLC, the data controller for the information described here. Write to support at aicastcohost dot com about anything on this page.

What the website collects

• When you buy: your name and email address, and the amount, currency and Stripe payment reference. Card details go to Stripe and never touch this site. We use this to issue and email your license key, create your account, and handle refunds.
• Your account: name, email, a password hash, and two-factor settings if you turn them on.
• The newsletter: only if you sign up - your email, which form you used, the exact consent wording you saw, and the time, IP address and browser of the signup and of the confirmation click. That record is how we can show you agreed.
• Support messages: what you write in the contact form, with your name and email, so we can reply.
• Affiliate referrals: if you arrived through an affiliate's link and allowed the referral cookie, which affiliate referred your purchase. See the affiliate program.
• Server logs: IP address, time and the page requested, kept briefly to keep the site running and secure.

What the app sends

The desktop app talks to our activation service (activate.aicastcohost.com) when you activate, when you sign a computer out, and occasionally in the background to renew its activation. Each time it sends:

• your license key;
• a random device ID created when the app was installed - not a hardware fingerprint, and it changes if you reinstall;
• the computer's name, so you can tell your machines apart on Your licenses;
• the app version.

Nothing else - no conversations, no audio, no show history, no usage data. After a computer is activated, the app works offline.

If you choose a Claude or ChatGPT subscription as the co-host's brain, the app talks to that provider through their own command-line tool, under their privacy policy, exactly as if you had used it yourself. The TikTok chat feed is read directly from TikTok by the app. Neither passes through this website.

The affiliate program

People who recommend AI Cast Co-host can join our affiliate program and earn a share of the sales they refer.

If you followed an affiliate's link (a link with ?ref= in it):

• We add one to a daily count of visits through that affiliate's link. The count is just a number - no IP address, browser or anything else about you is stored with it.
• We ask whether we may set the referral cookie described below. Nothing is stored in your browser for the referral unless you say yes.
• If you allowed it and you buy within 90 days, the affiliate's code is sent to Stripe with your checkout, and we record that your purchase was referred by that affiliate and the commission it earned them. We use this to pay the affiliate, and to cancel the commission if the purchase is refunded or disputed.
• The affiliate sees the date of the purchase, the amount paid and their commission. They never see your name, email address or anything else that identifies you.
• The legal basis is your consent for the cookie, and our legitimate interest in paying the people who refer customers for the purchase record. You can withdraw consent at any time by removing the cookie (below).

If you are an affiliate:

• We keep your affiliate code, the rate you joined at, the date you accepted the affiliate terms, the daily visit counts for your link, the sales you referred and the commission on each, and your payouts.
• You are paid through Stripe Connect. Stripe collects and verifies your identity, bank account and tax details under its own privacy policy and the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. We store only your Stripe account ID and whether it can receive payouts - never your bank details.
• We use this to pay you, to work out and correct commissions, and to prevent fraud (for example, purchases referred to yourself). The legal basis is the affiliate agreement you accepted.

Cookies

This site sets a session cookie, an XSRF-TOKEN cookie and - only if you agree to it - a referral cookie. Nothing else.

All three are set by this site only, and none can be read by another site. There are no analytics, advertising or third-party cookies, so there is no cookie banner - the referral question is only shown to visitors who arrive through an affiliate's link.

Who else sees it

• Stripe processes payments, and pays affiliates through Stripe Connect.
• An affiliate who referred you sees the date, amount and commission of your purchase - never who you are.
• Our email provider (Postmark) delivers the license email, password resets and, if you subscribed, the newsletter.
• Our hosting provider runs the servers this site and the activation service live on.

We do not sell, rent or share your information for anybody else's marketing.

How long it is kept

• Purchase records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
• Affiliate commissions and payouts: as long as tax and accounting law requires, like purchases - they are payment records.
• The referral cookie: 90 days, or until you remove it.
• Daily visit counts: while the affiliate's account exists. They contain nothing about any visitor.
• Your account and license: until you ask us to delete them. Deleting the account deactivates the license.
• Activation records: until the computer is signed out, or the license is deleted.
• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe - every email has a one-click link. We keep the consent history afterwards so we can show the unsubscribe was honored.
• Support messages: as long as needed to help you, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted - write to support at aicastcohost dot com . We reply within 30 days. Where the law gives you further rights (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA), you have those too, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

If this changes, the date at the top changes with it, and anything that affects what the app sends will be in the release notes before the version that does it ships.
